To Prepare Our Future Generations
Children are the future of our communities, and Kim’s work-life reflected her desire to make a difference. In her role as a youth development coordinator for promoting healthy living and social responsibility, she plowed the field, tirelessly sowing seeds of positive change. Through our support of partner organizations, we continue Kim’s work for youth in challenging situations or in conflict with their families and schools.
The Parent Help Center
Empowering Successful Parenting
For more than 10 years, the Kim Usery Foundation has supported the Jacksonville, Florida, based ministry of Glenn & Sheila Ellison, The Parent Help Center. Glenn, a Jacksonville High School All-State football player, Marine and former NFL fullback for the Oakland Raiders along with his gentle, sweet and kind wife Sheila have dedicated their lives to empowering parents to raise respectful and productive children in order to strengthen communities, our country, and the world.
The Parent Help Center strives to restore relationships between parents and children and put peace back in homes, offering a non-confrontational behavior modification program that focuses on changing family dynamics. Through Christ-centered weekend parent retreats, summer camps for their children, and support groups, The Parent Help Center teaches families to overcome emotional and behavioral challenges.
Their work was featured in the 2023 film “Success Camp” starring Dean Caine and Braeden Sorbo. The movie tells the story of four families facing challenges and their need for God, respect, love, encouragement, trust, obedience, and faith within a family.
Adoption
New Beginnings for Children
Through support of adoption, orphan care and youth programs around the world, the Kim Usery Foundation is responding to God’s call with tangible resources and prayers. Adoption creates new beginnings for both children and parents – forming new families and opportunities for love, healing and growth. We are honored to support both domestic and international adoption as well as orphan care as part of our mission to support families and children.
Proverbs 22:6
“Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.”
Mental Health
Healthy and Safe Environments
The Kim Usery Foundation continues to focus on mental health assistance, especially those that promote early childhood evaluation and detection. So many children either experience trauma or live with undetected conditions that could be dealt with through early intervention. We continue to support a variety of short and long term youth programs provided through established and well-known organizations that professionally work to address these issues.
Superbook
Christian Curriculum
Through the Christian Broadcast Network’s artists and professionals, Superbook brings the bible to life through animation, a timeless form of storytelling, to introduce children to Jesus and help develop their faith. Superbook lets children experience and interact with Bible stories using the Superbook Bible App and the Superbook Kids website – engaging and powerful tools that are readily accessible in any place, at any time. The ministry also provides Superbook Academy as a digital curriculum for children’s ministry, including in-depth lesson plans, activities, and crafts to challenge students to go deeper into God’s Word.
