Kim’s Life & Passions
The Kim Usery Foundation was established in honor of Kim Usery’s memory. Kim saw the hand of God at work all around her and she was daily a willing participant in that work. Whether helping people down the street get to church, standing firm for life for the unborn or traveling to Guatemala and preaching the gospel, she was willing to give of herself at a moment’s notice. “It’s a God thing,” she’d say as she saw new opportunities to share the love of Christ each day.
Recognizing that “life and death are in the power of the tongue,” Kim was not one to brag about how God was using her to touch so many lives around her. She didn’t wear her religion on her sleeve. She didn’t have to. She simply lived out her life for the Lord, and that life was her testimony.
As she began to face challenges with her health, not only did she refuse to complain or turn the attention to herself, she stood firmer than ever in relying on God to be her all in all. On February 11, 2008, Kim unexpectedly went home to be with the Lord, but her vision and passion for the lost and the hurting inspires us still to press forward and continue the race that she began with the Lord’s help.
The Kim Usery Foundation has a passion to continue Kim’s Christ-centered ministries that became her life’s work. As Kim inspired, our vision is truly to become “Christians acting on our beliefs.”

In Memory of Kimberly Dawn Usery
December 7, 1972 – February 11, 2008
Ms. Kimberly Dawn Usery, age 35, of Charlotte, N.C., went home to be with the Lord Monday, February 11, 2008, at her home.
Born in Macon, Georgia, Ms. Usery was a daughter of Melvin and Eleyce Usery. She studied nursing, healthcare and cosmetology. Ms. Usery was employed at the University Y.M.C.A. as a childcare provider. She was a very strong believer in Christ. Ms. Usery had a passion for foreign missions, having served in Guatemala and Israel. She loved children and her wonderful dogs, ChiChi and Mouse. She was a faithful daughter, sister and friend; a prayer warrior and servant of the Lord.
Surviving are her parents, Melvin and Eleyce Usery; her sister, Laurie Morrissey.
